A professional studio-intensive degree program for students who wish to prepare for a career in visual arts. The Bachelor of Fine Arts students experience a thorough grounding in fundamental principles and techniques, continuing into an emphasis in one or more specific art and design areas: ceramics, graphic design, illustration, metals & jewelry, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. The students discover personal aesthetics and develop technical expertise and creative artistic strengths through a range of artistic problems that prepare them as practicing artists and/or provide the credentials for continued studies at the graduate level.

Rowan Core: 9 s.h.
All first-time Freshmen must complete the University Rowan Core Literacies. There are six literacies: - Communicative Literacy (COML) - 9 s.h. Satisfied by taking the following three courses:
- Artistic Literacy (ARTL)
- Global Literacy (GLBL)
- Humanistic Literacy (HUML)
- Quantitative Literacy (QNTL)
- Scientific Literacy (SCIL)
Majors may suggest courses to fulfill the above literacies and will be applied elsewhere. A complete listing of courses that fulfill the above literacies can be found here Undergraduate Program Requirements . Rowan Experience
Students must satisfy all three Rowan Experience attributes. Credits attached to the courses in this section will apply elsewhere. The attributes are as follows: - Broad-Based Literature Attribute (LIT)
- Writing Intensive Attribute (WI)
- Rowan Seminar Attribute*(RS)
Departments may recommend courses to fulfill these attributes. A complete listing of courses that satisfy these attributes can be found at Undergraduate Program Requirements . *The Rowan Seminar requirement is waived for all students transferring 24 or more approved credits into Rowan University at the time of initial entry. Major requirements must receive a grade of C or better. Non-Program Courses: 18 s.h.
Courses in this area cannot be in the Major Department. - Any Music, Theater or Dance Course that satisfies Artistic Literacy (ARTL) - Credits: 3

Primary Studio: 12 s.h
Choose 4 classes in one area* Support Studio: 9 s.h.
Choose 3 classes in a supportive area * Additional Studio: 30 s.h.
The 30 credits must include the following three courses. Electives:15 s.h.
Students should choose Free Electives that satisfy any Rowan Core or Rowan Experience requirements that are not fulfilled by Major or Non-Program courses. Available Concentrations:
Total Required Credits for the Program: 120 s.h.
