Effective August 1, 2025, the Ric Edelman College of Communication, Humanities & Social Sciences was created, merging the College of Humanities & Social Sciences with five departments from the Edelman College of Communications & Creative Arts: Communication Studies, Journalism, Public Relations & Advertising, Radio, Television & Film, and Writing Arts.
The Ric Edelman College of Communication, Humanities & Social Sciences will serve as a cornerstone of Rowan’s commitment to educational excellence. Our faculty are leading the way in redefining the liberal arts by embracing interdisciplinary collaboration, driving innovation, and advancing a shared academic vision that prepares students to think critically, engage deeply, and lead with purpose in a rapidly changing socio-economic and technological world.
We offer high-impact experiential learning in an environment where students can thrive and develop the skills most valued by today’s employers: creative problem-solving, effective communication, and a broad, well-rounded perspective. Our new college builds upon previous collaboration efforts by expanding professional and academic resources - including the Center for Professional Success and the award-winning Rowan Student Media Hub - while remaining a vibrant home for some of Rowan’s most passionate students and faculty.
