Undergraduate Concentration in Animation
|
|
The Concentration in Animation is part of the BFA in Studio Art major and housed within the College of the Arts Department of Art. The concentration complements and intersects with all of the majors within College of the Arts. Graduating students will receive a Bachelors of Fine Arts with a Concentration in Animation. Students will take the standard core set of foundation requirements for the BFA in Studio Art courses and then choose from a flexible variety of electives that are designed to be animation-focused. The skill sets involved in animation production are in high demand, not only for those who wish to focus on animation as a career but also for a growing variety of industries. Students are encouraged to apply for the concentration as early as possible in their undergraduate career. Animation is by definition, is fundamentally a model for interdisciplinary study and practice. The industry has seen continuous and steady growth, particularly as remote work methods have grown in recent years. Animation studies serve a variety of departments and majors including Art, Media, Communications, Film, Biomedical Visualization, Advertising, and Computer Programming.
