SWK 01325 - Introduction to Generalist Social Work Practice

Credits: 3


Students will build generalist social work practice skills preparing for work in groups, agencies and organizations. The course deals with the process of professionalization and introduces students to a range of practice tools. During this course, students focus on understanding the context of macro practice; identifying problems at the community and organizational level; organizing and building relationships within communities and organizations; and organization-based and community-based policy making, planning, and program development. Volunteer hours in a community-based agency are required as part of this course.



Prerequisite Courses: SWK 01100  with a minimum grade of C
