Center for Professional Success
The Center for Professional Success (CPS) is a comprehensive resource center that supports the academic and career development of students in the Ric Edelman College of Communication, Humanities & Social Sciences. The CPS provides a variety of services, including internship placement support, developmental modules, networking events, travel funding, and career development workshops.
Center for Digital Humanities Research
The Center for Digital Humanities Research is an interdisciplinary research center dedicated to developing faculty and student research in the digital humanities at Rowan through collaboration, digital skill-building, classes, and public programming. Events sponsored by the Center include the annual Douglass Day Transcribe-a-thon on February 11, Historical Map-a-Thon, Digital Humanities Student showcases, and various Digital Humanities workshops.
The Center for Disaster Science, Risks, and Community Resilience
Integrating interdisciplinary approaches to research, outreach, and engagement, the Center is dedicated to advancing an understanding of disaster science, crisis management, homeland security, and critical infrastructure challenges within a risk- informed approach for government agencies, communities, and businesses. Driven by the need to provide timely evidence-based solutions for local, state, and national stakeholders and decision-makers, the Center engages in research, training, and policy innovation and serves as a repository for disaster-related knowledge that helps make our critical infrastructure, communities, and economy resilient to global and dynamic threats and hazards.
The Ric Edelman College Field School
The Ric Edelman College Field School offers impactful experiential learning opportunities, including field work, workshops, credit-bearing courses, and programs for university and high school students during the summer and academic year. For 2025- 2026, programs include the Battle Lab Archaeology and Public History summer course offered at Red Bank Battlefield Park and Storytellers Summer Camp, a creative media arts camp that gives upper elementary, middle school, and high school students two weeks of exciting learning experiences in the techniques and creative tools people use to share stories.
Hollybush Institute for Global Peace and Security
This institute builds on the legacy of the 1967 Glassboro Summit by promoting scholarly research, educational activities, and community outreach related to the history and practice of international dialogue to promote global security, peace, and the rule of law. Imbued with the Spirit of Glassboro, & as President Lyndon Johnson called it, the Institute builds bridges between the humanities and the arts and sciences to inspire innovative global thinking.
Rowan Center for the Study of Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights
The Rowan Center for the Study of Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights (RCHGHR) is a leading center in New Jersey for teaching about the Holocaust and other genocides. The RCHGHR offers a range of programs each semester dedicated to combating bias, prejudice, and anti-Semitism by highlighting human rights and the dignity of every person.
The Museum of Anthropology at Rowan University (MARU)
Through the integration of collections, education, and research, the Museum of Anthropology at Rowan University strives to promote learning and understanding of human and cultural origins. MARU’s collections, public service programs, and research projects serve to enhance the public understanding and appreciation of human experience.
Rowan Productions
Rowan Productions was set up to provide professional production services to the university, businesses, and organizations in South Jersey. Employing Rowan Radio, Television & Film (RTF) graduates, the goal is to create a sustainable enterprise that provides clients with high-quality productions and also creates paid employment for our students.
The Rowan Institute for Public Policy & Citizenship (RIPPAC)
RIPPAC is dedicated to informing, engaging, and training Rowan students, faculty, and the public in politics, policy, and citizen engagement. To accomplish this, the Institute hosts programs and guest speakers, supports students through academic and career development, internships, and scholarships, and connects faculty and students from across the University with public entities to facilitate public policy research and discussion.
Cannabis Policy Center at Rowan University
The passage of voter-driven marijuana laws for recreational use signals a societal shift in attitudes toward cannabis use in New Jersey. This policy transformation reminds us that there is still much we don’t know about the potential impact of legalization on behavioral patterns, on social and product control, as well as on public policy. As part of the Rowan University Institute for Cannabis Research, Policy, & Workforce Development, the
Cannabis Policy Center aims to become the reference for New Jersey and other states for cannabis research and training.
Rowan University Center for Social Science Research
The Rowan University Center for Social Science Research (RCSSR) conducts empirical social science research, data collection, and evaluation. RCSSR provides skills, training, resources, and support for faculty, students, staff, and the community at large who need to use social science methods to carry out systematic, evidence-based, and collaborative research, evaluation, and grant writing.
Center for Sports Communication & Social Impact
The Center’s core mission is to advance the success of Sports CaM majors. Working with students studying in the Sports Communication and Media (Sports CaM) program, the Center aims to enhance their academic growth and provide access to mentoring, renowned guest speakers, networking events, work opportunities, and student clubs.
The Steve Sweeney Center for Public Policy
The Sweeney Center was created to fill the need for an independent, bipartisan public policy center to conduct research and develop pragmatic solutions to complex policy issues based on data-driven analysis, rigorous academic research, and convening working groups that bring together policy experts, stakeholders, and advocates to reach consensus.
Center for the Advancement of Women in Communication
As an affiliate of the Lillian Lodge Kopenhaver Center for the Advancement of Women in Communication at Florida International University, the Center works collaboratively across our campuses and throughout the country to promote gender equity and foster advancements for women working in all fields of communication, both in academia and in industry. The Center provides access to renowned guest speakers, mentoring, networking events, and virtual workshops for the benefit of all, regardless of gender identification.
Rowan Writing Center (RWC)
The Rowan Writing Center’s mission is to create a university community of strong, confident writers and communicators. The Center offers an inclusive, accessible, and supportive environment where tutors provide opportunities that enable student writers to discover and develop effective writing practices. From brainstorming ideas, organizing them, revising drafts, and checking citations, the RWC and its tutors provide a comfortable environment for students writing in a variety of genres to improve and succeed.
