Certificate of Graduate Study in International Crisis Management & Security

The Certificate of Graduate Studies in International Crisis Management & Security is an interdisciplinary academic field that analyzes the causes of global conflict (war), systemic oppression, and explores processes by which crisis and security can be managed to maximize justice while minimizing violence. The COGS in International Crisis Management & Security is designed as a stand-alone credential. While pursuing a master’s degree in Emergency & Threat Response Management, Criminal Justice, or Public Policy, students earning the graduate certificate will have the theoretical understanding of international crisis response, management and security operations.

Program Requirements

Required Courses

Students are required to select two (2) of the following courses:

DPEM 00633 - Global Crisis Monitoring, Conflict Analysis & Early Warning Systems Credits: 3
DPEM 00655 - Threat Assessment in Homeland Security Credits: 3
or
DPEM 00651 - Foundations of Global Threats, Risks and Response Credits: 3

Elective Courses

Select one (1) course from the list below

Total Required Credits for the Program: 9 s.h.

To be awarded the Certificate of Graduate Studies in International Crisis Management & Security, students must complete all courses required for the COGS in International Crisis Management & Security with at least a 2.0 average.
