The Certificate of Undergraduate Study (CUGS) in Sports, Society, and Civic Leadership provides a sequence of courses that combines humanities topics (such history, anthropology, and english) with sports communications and journalism (such as public relations and communications) equipping students with well-rounded approach to careers in the sports industry, non-profits, community organizations and to understand how sports operates in historical and social spheres.

Students may satisfy program electives through coursework completed at Rowan University, transfer credits obtained from comparable coursework at other institutions and study abroad for up to 6 s.h. All courses must be passed with a letter of grade of “C-” or better.
