The Graduate Certificate in Student Assistance Coordination is intended for individuals who want to be certified as student assistance coordinators. A Student Assistance Coordinator provides in-school assessment, crisis intervention, and counseling and referral services to any student experiencing personal, family, or peer difficulties. Student Assistance Coordinator’s work with students, their families, and community resources in many New Jersey school districts to address substance abuse issues, social and emotional issues, and behavioral problems experienced by school-age children.
The certificate may be earned on its own or it can be credited towards the Master of Arts in Counseling Educational Settings. Master of Arts in Counseling in Educational Settings students interested in obtaining the certificate are encouraged to contact the program coordinator for additional information.
