Minor in Homeland Security

- DPEM Majors can enroll in this minor.
- With an emphasis on US Domestic Homeland Security Operations, the Minor in Homeland Security is designed for students interested in a broad understanding of Homeland Security. The Minor in Homeland Security is designed to provide an understanding of the fundamental principles of National Security strategies, including the legal charter, presidential executive orders, and the framework which guides the operation of national security agencies. Specifically, the program analyzes the role and function of counter intelligence and the intelligence community. It will emphasize homegrown terrorist cultures, money-laundering, threat assessment, intelligence operations, incident command systems, border security, emergency response, joint operations, surveillance and communications systems, cyberterrorism, weapons of mass destruction, counterterrorist operations, and applications to specific terrorist organizations and threats.
- Students must complete the courses as listed. Not substitution of classes is allowed to complete the minor.
- To maintain Minimum Satisfactory Academic Progress:
- Earn no grades lower than a “C-” in any course required for the minor.
- Earn an official cumulative GPA (according to matriculation level) of at least 2.000 on Rowan’s 4.000 scale
