Program Requirements

The requirements include the following courses:

Geospatial Bank Courses: 6 s.h.

In consultation with an advisor, students choose any two of the department’s Geospatial Bank courses (6 s.h.) which include:

GEOG 16261 - Cartography Credits: 3
GEOG 16350 - Quantitative and Qualitative Methods Credits: 3
GEOG 16360 - Applications of Geographic Information Systems Credits: 3
GEOG 16361 - Geovisualization Credits: 3
GEOG 16365 - Geospatial Measurement and Environmental Modeling Credits: 3
GEOG 16370 - Drones, Planes, and Satellites Credits: 3
GEOG 16375 - Remote Sensing of the Environment Credits: 3
GEOG 16462 - Web-Based GIS Mapping Credits: 3

Total Required Credits for the Program: 13 s.h.

To be awarded the CUGS in GIS, students must complete all courses required for the CUGS in GIS with at least a 2.0 average. This CUGS is available to students not enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in GIS and BS GIS Minor programs.
