The Certificate of Undergraduate Study (CUGS) in Esports Industry & Entertainment Experience is an interdisciplinary certificate that trains students in the critical communication, sports management, digital production, problem solving, and leadership skills necessary for successful careers in esports and beyond.

Program Requirements

The requirements include the following courses:

Required courses: 3 s.h.

SPRT 09201 - Foundations of Esports Credits: 3

Elective Courses: 9 s.h

Choose three of the following electives

SPRT 09315 - Esports Characters & Communities Credits: 3
SPRT 09316 - Esports Reporting Credits: 3
SPRT 09317 - Esports Streaming & Social Platforms Credits: 3
SPRT 09318 - Esports Coverage: Shoutcasting & In-Game Observing Credits: 3
SPRT 09319 - Evolution of Esports Credits: 3

Total Required Credits for the Program: 12 s.h.

The CUGS in Esports Industry & Entertainment Experience is available to all non-matriculated and matriculated students. Students majoring in Sports Communication & Media can only count two of the CUGS courses toward their major requirements. Students must complete all courses required for the CUGS in Esports Industry & Entertainment Experience with at least a 2.0 GPA.
