Certificate of Undergraduate Study in Training & Development

The Certificate of Undergraduate Study (CUGS) in Training & Development prepares students for entry-level positions as training and development specialists. Students will develop sensitivity to the needs of diverse audiences of learners, ability to apply best practices in organizational communication, competency to evaluate training and development programs, and capability to design effective organizational interventions.

Program Requirements

The requirements include the following four courses:

CMS 04260 - Organizational Communication Theory and Research Credits: 3
EDUC 21230 - Characteristics of Knowledge Acquisition Credits: 3
HRM 06420 - Principles of Training and Training Management Credits: 3
MGT 06304 - Organizational Change and Development Credits: 3

Total Required Credits for the Program: 12 s.h.

To be awarded the CUGS in Training & Development, students must complete all courses required with at least a 2.5 average. The CUGS is suitable for students in all majors.
