Mechanical Engineering involves the design and building of machines and devices. This includes the conversion of energy from one form to another, the dynamics of mechanical devices, and the control systems for operation of machines. Design of thermal and mechanical systems are integrated into the curriculum.
The Rowan Mechanical Engineering Program develops effective engineers who are well prepared for the next phase of their career, whether in industry or government or in graduate school.
Our educational objectives are as follows:
- ME graduates are well-rounded engineers who can apply knowledge and skills in their careers.
- ME graduates consider the context and broader impacts of engineering solutions in professional practice.
- ME graduates effectively communicate to a broad spectrum of audiences and have the teamwork and leadership skills to excel professionally.
- ME graduates are flexible to adapt to changing technology and recognize the need for continuous improvement, self-study or further education.
