Wellness & Inclusive Services in Education

The Wellness & Inclusive Services in Education (WISE) Department in the College of Education offers a variety of opportunities that involve specialized student supports in K-12 schools. The department offers programs and certifications in Inclusive Education, Special Education, School Counseling, School Psychology, and School Nursing. WISE programs share important features with a focus on wellness and inclusivity. The WISE Department offers opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to deepen their knowledge and skills supporting all students in schools. We prepare teachers, counselors, nurses, and psychologists who require specialized content knowledge and content-specific pedagogy that support the overall wellness (academic and social/emotional) of K-12 students. WISE programs require clinical experiences and meet state-mandated requirements that lead to certification.
