The course draws upon knowledge from the fields of dynamics, fluid mechanics, machine design, internal combustion engines, and vehicle powertrains in the study of vehicle dynamics. Topics covered include lateral dynamics, tire dynamics, braking, steady-state handling, transient handling, vehicle stability, vehicle ride and comfort, and suspension design.
