Certificate of Graduate Study in Advanced Photonics

This program is designed to provide students with an advanced understanding of optics and photonic technologies including but not limited to advanced optical design, electro-optic devices, and non-linear optics. The COGS in Advanced Photonics is a follow-on to the COGS in Photonics and the topics here are an extension to the work in that program.

Total Required Credits for the Program: 12 s.h.
Foundation Courses
All the above courses are required to earn the COGS and can be taken in any order after the student completes the first course, Fourier Optics (PHYS PHYS 00544 ) and previous work equivalent to the Rowan COGS in Photonics. Note that the student is expected to have a strong undergraduate math background through multivariate calculus. Previous undergraduate courses in Electricity & Magnetism and Modern Physics are also recommended.
